Detonating cord applies to open-pit mining blasting engineering and engineering in no danger of gas explosion or dust explosion. Detonating cord can be classified into low energy detonating cord, medium energy detonating cord and high energy detonating cord by different charge quantities.

1 . Charge Quantity and Tolerance

The charge quantity of low energy detonating cord is supposed to be 9g/m or less with tolerance of ±1.0g/m;

The charge quantity of medium energy detonating cord(ordinary detonating cord) is supposed to be 9g/m or more but less than 18g/m with tolerance of ±1.5g/m;

The charge quantity of high energy detonating cord is supposed to be 18g/m or more with tolerance of ±2.0g/m;

2. Explosion Velocity

The explosion velocity of the detonating cord is supposed to be 6.0x103m/s or more.

3. Propagation of Explosion

The detonating cord is supposed to be fully detonated after ignition of a No.8 detonator(GB 8031 or GB 19417).

4. Water Resistance

The detonating cord is supposed to be fully detonated after a 5 hour soak in 10℃-25℃ still water .

5. Cold Resistance

No self-ignition or broken surface after a 2 hour refrigeration of -40℃±2℃ and the detonating cord is supposed to be fully detonated.

6. Heat Resistance

No leaked powder, inner layer wire or broken coating after a 2 hour preservation of 72℃±2℃ and the detonating cord is supposed to be fully detonated.

7. Stretching Resistance

The detonating cord is supposed to bear a 30 min pulling force of 400N and is not supposed to break after the test regulated by GB/T 13224 and the detonating cord is supposed to be fully detonated.

A roll of detonating cord is supposed to be 50m±0.5m(or according to the customer’s requirements). It is supposed to be 5 sections or less in one roll and the shortest section is supposed to be 2m or more.

The detonating cord is supposed to be kept under the requirements of WJ 9049. The quality assurance period is 5 years.
